Fully Synthetic oil : is oil consisting of chemical compounds which were not originally present in crude oil (petroleum), but were artificially made (synthesized) from other compounds.
Semi Synthetic oil : (also called 'synthetic blends') are blends of mineral oil with less than 30% synthetic oil. Designed to have many of the benefits of synthetic oil without matching the cost of pure synthetic oil.
Mineral oil : or liquid petroleum is a by-product in the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline and other petroleum based products from crude oil. It is a transparent, colorless oil

4- By Grade
Mono grade : definition of oil specification where the kinematic viscosity is measured at a reference temperature of 100°C.
Multi-grade : definition of oil specification to measure the kinematic viscosity where The temperature range that the oil is exposed to in most vehicles can be wide, ranging from cold ambient temperatures in the winter before the vehicle is started up to hot operating temperatures when the vehicle is fully warmed up in hot summer weather.

BMW, mercedes, Volvo, General Motors, Ford , and others some times recommends oil grade or oil type and some time recommend a specific oil company.
